What tooling do I need to start?

You watch the lessons on any browser — laptop, tablet, or phone, no special hardware or app install. The library runs on the same browser you already use for YouTube and parts lookups.

For the bench work itself, you need the hand tools you already own for the project at hand: a basic socket set, a multimeter, screwdrivers, and the same basics every tech already keeps in the drawer. None of the tracks assume pro shop tooling — a hobbyist garage and a working bay sit on the same starting line.

The wiring kit add-on is the only piece of gear you can buy separately. It ships a pre-built harness loom so the on-screen splices match the loom you hold; every track reads end-to-end without it.

Question 2

Is this OK for a beginner or hobbyist?

Yes — most of the library is written so a hobbyist with a basic socket set can follow along without shop training. Each track assumes you can turn a wrench but not that you have years on the bay; diagrams break the work into individual steps so you can stop and rewind. If you have already swapped a part or two, you will move through the early modules quickly. If you have never opened a hood, you will still finish the first module in an evening — the quizzes mark your progress without gating anything essential. The library is built for the buyer who already turns wrenches, whether that means weekends in a one-car garage or weekdays under a lift. The pace is yours; the material is the same either way.

Is checkout secure?

Yes — clicking Buy opens Stripe-hosted Checkout, where you enter payment details on Stripe’s secure payment page rather than a custom card form on Torquebench. You can review the order total before confirming, and Stripe sends you back to Torquebench after payment. The course site never asks you to send card details by email or chat.

Is the certificate real / accepted?

Yes — the certificate is real, track-level, and signed by the working tech who wrote the material. It is a completion credential proving the holder finished every module and passed every scored quiz in the track, not an ASE certificate and not a state license. Hiring shops read it as credible evidence of applied self-study; it is a working-shop credential, not a substitute for the employer-mandated certifications some shops require for hire. Most holders keep it in the binder for the next interview or on the wall above the bench. The track page also keeps a PDF copy of the signed certificate on file, so you never have to dig for it. If a specific shop requires an ASE or manufacturer credential, email the team and they will tell you straight whether TorqueBench covers it.

What’s the refund policy?

Email torquebench@polsia.app within 30 days of purchase for a full refund — no need to explain, no forms to fill, no support ticket to open. Replies usually arrive within one working day and the refund posts the same week. After 30 days the team still reads every message and will work with you case by case, but the no-questions-asked window is the first 30 days. A working tech who bins a library inside a month gets the money back — that is the seatbelt the team offers and it is there for a reason. Library pass vs. single course — which is right?

Single Course is the right pick if you have one specific repair or swap ahead of you and you do not expect to need another track soon — you pay less and own that one track forever, with free updates as the platform evolves. Library Pass is the right pick if you are already mid-build or planning a second project: every current course across all three tracks, every course the team ships next year with no further charge, and the buyer-only mailing list for new-track announcements. If you would rather pay $29/mo and cancel from your account when the build is done, the monthly tier hands you the same library on a cancellable schedule. Comparing the four tiers side by side is the cleanest way to decide; the upper-tier math usually pays for itself by the second project.
